About Me
Meet Asriel
Status: Fostered
Estimated Age: 2 Years
Estimated Weight: 24 Pounds
UPDATE - 5 AUGUST 2023: Puppy Power! energy is the name of Asriel's game. He is full of exuberant, boundless love. Asriel has a clue about housetraining and is doing very well when given a potty break every two hours. He walks nicely on the leash as long as no squirrels are in the vicinity, then all bets are off! He loves toys and enjoys playing with other dogs. Asriel likes riding in the car. This handsome boy relishes snuggling with his foster daddy.
UPDATE - 19 JULY 2023 (from foster family): Here comes Best in Show, Asriel, who is looking to be adopted as soon as possible! Asriel has the looks, not only classic beagle, but SUPER classic beagle looks. He has the following to offer:
- continuously wagging tail at your every action and utterance;
- enthusiastic snuggling;
- shoe and slipper delivery (yes, they might be wet because it would be rude not to taste);
- private audiences while you use the toilet;
- watch dog services when a window is provided;
- free and eager surfing of counters and tables;
- affable friendships with other canines and people;
- a willingness to learn your ways and please you.
UPDATE - 15 JULY 2023: Asriel joined us at today's Adoption Day. What a sweet boy! The good news is he is off to a foster home, so we will be learning more about him soon!
UPDATE - 13 JULY 2023: Asriel is now fully vetted and available for fostering or adoption.
NEW - 29 JUNE 2023: Asriel is a young beagle boy who is friendly, social and good with other dogs. He was a stray at the Brunswick Animal Shelter in Virginia, so his history is unknown. He will be available soon.
Questions?
Q: Can you tell me more about a specific dog? Is s/he good with kids / housetrained / good with cats/ etc?
A: What we know is in the write up. Our knowledge about any dog that is not in a foster homes is limited. Once approved, our adoption coordinators will work with you to match you with the right dog.
Q: Can I meet a specific dog?
A: We’re sorry, but you must be an approved adopter to meet our dogs. Pre-pandemic, dogs could be met at adoption days, but you still had to be approved to adopt from an adoption day.
Q: How can I adopt a specific dog?
A: You must submit an adoption application and be approved to adopt. You can do that under Adopt – you can also learn about the adoption process there.. It will take about two weeks for an adoption coordinator to get in touch with you. Please keep in mind that dogs that are available now may be adopted in the meantime. But we are always getting new dogs. You can see them on our website.
Q: Can I add another dog to the list on my application?
A: We don’t hold you to the dogs you listed on your application. It gives us an idea of what you are looking for. Plus it will let us know if someone is interested in one of our special needs / hard to place dogs.
Q: I indicated that I was interested in a specific dog on my application, but I see that s/he has been adopted. What happened?
A: We do not hold dogs. Applicants in the queue before you are being approved and may adopt the dog you are interested in before you are approved. But we are always getting new dogs in and your adoption coordinator will help you find the perfect match.
