UPDATE - 23 NOVEMBER 2024: Momo was adopted today! Two to go!
UPDATE - 16 NOVEMBER 2024: Miso's puppies are growing up quickly! Three of the six puppies have been adopted, but we are still searching for great homes for the last three - Sushi (F), Edamame (M), and Momo (M). Here is an update on these sweeties from their foster mom:
Sushi- female at only 10lbs she is the smallest of the group. She is small but mighty. This sassy girl loves to play with toys, zoom around the yard and play with other dogs. Sushi has lots of energy and needs lots of exercise. She loves to be held and snuggle up with the humans of the house.
Edamame- otherwise known as Ed, is the biggest of the litter. He is a laid back pup that loves to explore. He uses his sniffer around the yard to explore when he isn’t zooming. Ed is a super friendly boy that is always wagging his tail and happy to interact with dogs and humans.
Momo- at 11 pounds, Momo is one of the smaller pups in the litter. His cute golden face and calm nature are just 2 of his traits that draw people to him. Momo is all for playing with the other pups but he also often sits on the deck and watches the other pups thinking about when to jump in. He loves snuggles and fleece blankies.
NEW - 22 OCTOBER 2024: Meet Miso's Puppies! Miso (already adopted) is a momma beagle who came to BREW extremely pregnant from the Louisa County Animal Shelter in Virginia. She was a stray, so we don't know her history. Momma Miso gave birth to 6 adorable puppies within a week of arriving at BREW. There are 4 males (Edamame, Momo, Sake, and Teriyaki); and 2 females (Sushi and Ginger), and they will be ready for adoption the first week in November. They are all microchipped and have had their first set of puppy shots. They look like beagles! Some of them look just like Miso (see her picture). If you are interested in adopting one of our puppies, please submit an application and let us know if you are interested in a male or female or either. We are looking for adopters who understand the joys and challenges of raising a puppy and will not leave the puppy alone for very long. An interviewer will contact you once your application has been received. We are in the process of moving the puppies to a new foster home and will provide updated pictures once they settle in.
Questions?
Q: Can you tell me more about a specific dog? Is s/he good with kids / housetrained / good with cats/ etc?
A: What we know is in the write up. Our knowledge about any dog that is not in a foster homes is limited. Once approved, our adoption coordinators will work with you to match you with the right dog.
Q: Can I meet a specific dog?
A: We’re sorry, but you must be an approved adopter to meet our dogs. Pre-pandemic, dogs could be met at adoption days, but you still had to be approved to adopt from an adoption day.
Q: How can I adopt a specific dog?
A: You must submit an adoption application and be approved to adopt. You can do that under Adopt – you can also learn about the adoption process there.. It will take about two weeks for an adoption coordinator to get in touch with you. Please keep in mind that dogs that are available now may be adopted in the meantime. But we are always getting new dogs. You can see them on our website.
Q: Can I add another dog to the list on my application?
A: We don’t hold you to the dogs you listed on your application. It gives us an idea of what you are looking for. Plus it will let us know if someone is interested in one of our special needs / hard to place dogs.
Q: I indicated that I was interested in a specific dog on my application, but I see that s/he has been adopted. What happened?
A: We do not hold dogs. Applicants in the queue before you are being approved and may adopt the dog you are interested in before you are approved. But we are always getting new dogs in and your adoption coordinator will help you find the perfect match.
