About Me
Meet Noah
Status: Fostered
Estimated Age: 3 Years
Estimated Weight: 32 Pounds
NOTE: Prefers a home with a fenced yard. Not recommended for an apartment.
UPDATE - 23 JULY 2022: Noah has the most charming personality, kind of like that irresistible toddler who makes all the older siblings cluck their tongues. He has excellent house manners, but Noah thinks that anything his housemates get should belong to him. Noah wants to always be close with you, sliding his feet into your slippers as you make your way through the house. This engaging boy has never met a human or dog that he did not fall in love with. Noah has a great sense of humor, and he loves to investigate every little thing outside the house. Foster mom investigation has revealed that Noah may bark (loudly) when you leave the house, but he quickly quiets and naps in his crate while you are gone; he will great you loudly and enthusiastically upon your return.
UPDATE - 10 JUNE 2022: Pictures don’t do the unique coloring of this sweet boy justice. He has been given a clean bill of health from the vet after undergoing heart worm treatment and is loving the freedom to run free as he’s off activity restriction. Check out this video: noah
Noah has come a long way since we first got him. He does much better when we leave him (as long as he’s given his peanut butter kong in his crate). You will get quite the vocal and exuberant welcome when you return. When home, he insists on being by your side or he will let you know his displeasure if not allowed to follow you. He’s made great strides with leash walking and house training, and is still working on the counter surfing and basic commands. If you’re looking for a sweet velcro beagle with a playful puppy streak still in him, Noah would love to meet you!
NEW - 30 APRIL 2022: Noah came to BREW in January 2022 after being found as a stray in Midlothian, Virginia. He tested positive for heartworms and needed to go through treatment. He has been living in a foster home while going through his treatments and is now ready to find his forever home! Here is what his foster mom has to say about this sweet boy:
Noah is an absolute sweetheart who loves being outside and exploring our fenced yard. Noah was a stray who spent an extended time on the run, so he is still learning some of his house manners. He has 2 speeds, lazy couch beagle and high energy, playful and sometimes mischievous puppy. He loves to curl up on the couch and nap next to us, but he also gets bouts of the zoomies. He has a beagle nose and goes a bit crazy for food. He’s not aggressive at all, just very very excited! He has good manners when we are eating at the table, but he will swiftly claim any food unattended. He is a counter surfing extraordinaire and promises to keep working on that.
Noah strongly prefers to have his humans in sight at all times and will use his loud beagle bark to let you know his displeasure if you leave the room or house. He makes a great shadow. He’d absolutely love to find someone who works from home as he has some separation anxiety, but he is crate trained. We are happy to share with any adopter what we’ve learned as far as making the transition easier for Noah when we leave.
Noah has made great improvements with house training and walking on a leash. While he doesn’t yet alert that he needs to go out, he does well with a consistent schedule. He gets along well with other dogs and has even tried to befriend the neighborhood cat.
He requests a home with a fenced yard, if possible (no apartments as he can be quite vocal). He is looking for someone to be patient with him as he continues to learn what it’s like to live in a home. In return, you will get a very loyal, loving, handsome, lifelong friend!
Questions?
Q: Can you tell me more about a specific dog? Is s/he good with kids / housetrained / good with cats/ etc?
A: What we know is in the write up. Our knowledge about any dog that is not in a foster homes is limited. Once approved, our adoption coordinators will work with you to match you with the right dog.
Q: Can I meet a specific dog?
A: We’re sorry, but you must be an approved adopter to meet our dogs. Pre-pandemic, dogs could be met at adoption days, but you still had to be approved to adopt from an adoption day.
Q: How can I adopt a specific dog?
A: You must submit an adoption application and be approved to adopt. You can do that under Adopt – you can also learn about the adoption process there.. It will take about two weeks for an adoption coordinator to get in touch with you. Please keep in mind that dogs that are available now may be adopted in the meantime. But we are always getting new dogs. You can see them on our website.
Q: Can I add another dog to the list on my application?
A: We don’t hold you to the dogs you listed on your application. It gives us an idea of what you are looking for. Plus it will let us know if someone is interested in one of our special needs / hard to place dogs.
Q: I indicated that I was interested in a specific dog on my application, but I see that s/he has been adopted. What happened?
A: We do not hold dogs. Applicants in the queue before you are being approved and may adopt the dog you are interested in before you are approved. But we are always getting new dogs in and your adoption coordinator will help you find the perfect match.
