About Me
Meet Noblie
Status: Fostered
Estimated Age: 6-7 Years
Estimated Weight: 42 Pounds
UPDATE - 21 SEPTEMBER 2024 (from foster family): Noblie has been in a foster home for less than a week and has made himself right at home! He is a perfect gentleman. It's hard to believe he's been overlooked for over a year! He came to us when we called for him on day one!! He's friendly, sweet, and self confident. All it takes to content him is a toy and a scratch behind the ears. He's quiet for a beagle - he only bays at the neighbors horses occasionally when they won't come say hello over the fence. He is housetrained to a doggie door - no accidents! He's not skittish or shy, and happily trails behind us around the house - even up stairs. We can tell he was someone's beloved house companion at one time. He gets along well with all the other dogs in our pack, and is even very tolerant of the obnoxious ones. If you are looking for one cool dude to hang out with, look no further. Noblie is your guy!
UPDATE - 14 SEPTEMBER 2024: Three cheers for Noblie! This BREW longtimer went off to a foster home today! We hope this is a great first step to finally finding Noblie his furever home. Stay tuned!
UPDATE - 10 AUGUST 2024: We have now had Noblie at our kennels for a year! He asks, "Why does everyone always want a tricolor beagle when we black/tan beagles are the handsomest?" He is a very patient boy as he waits for a family to adopt or foster him. Noblie joined us at another Adoption Day today, so he got to show off just how cool he is. He loves his toys, and he loves to go for walks. He is a bigger boy, so he needs a strong hand on the other end of the leash, but he is very content to check out whatever is going on around him. He doesn't bark, doesn't react to other dogs, and he likes people, although being a lap dog is unlikely to be in his future. If you are looking for a quiet, independent soul, Noblie may be the guy for you!
UPDATE - 9 MARCH 2024: Noblie joined us at our Adoption Day today. He is a stout boy and very independent! He spent most of the time observing all of the other dogs and people at the event at a distance and was more interested in finding a toy or going for a walk. He walks with a mission to sniff everything! He would probably enjoy having a back yard where he could explore to his heart's content. Noblie is still looking for a foster or permanent home.
NEW - 19 AUGUST 2023: Noblie is a friendly beagle boy who loves toys! He is a chunky fellow, but he is the average beagle height. He was a stray at the Louisa County Animal Shelter in Virginia, so his history is unknown. He is available for fostering or adoption.
Questions?
Q: Can you tell me more about a specific dog? Is s/he good with kids / housetrained / good with cats/ etc?
A: What we know is in the write up. Our knowledge about any dog that is not in a foster homes is limited. Once approved, our adoption coordinators will work with you to match you with the right dog.
Q: Can I meet a specific dog?
A: We’re sorry, but you must be an approved adopter to meet our dogs. Pre-pandemic, dogs could be met at adoption days, but you still had to be approved to adopt from an adoption day.
Q: How can I adopt a specific dog?
A: You must submit an adoption application and be approved to adopt. You can do that under Adopt – you can also learn about the adoption process there.. It will take about two weeks for an adoption coordinator to get in touch with you. Please keep in mind that dogs that are available now may be adopted in the meantime. But we are always getting new dogs. You can see them on our website.
Q: Can I add another dog to the list on my application?
A: We don’t hold you to the dogs you listed on your application. It gives us an idea of what you are looking for. Plus it will let us know if someone is interested in one of our special needs / hard to place dogs.
Q: I indicated that I was interested in a specific dog on my application, but I see that s/he has been adopted. What happened?
A: We do not hold dogs. Applicants in the queue before you are being approved and may adopt the dog you are interested in before you are approved. But we are always getting new dogs in and your adoption coordinator will help you find the perfect match.
