NOTE: Needs experienced owner; no young children; can be noisy (not suitable for an apartment)
UPDATE – 15 NOVEMBER 2020: Stella can be noisy when crated, so she’s not suitable for an apartment, townhouse or condo unless someone is home with her most of the time and doesn’t crate her.
UPDATE – 23 OCTOBER 2020: We have had Stella since July as we have been working with her on her food aggression issues. She has finally settled into a foster home for the last couple of months, so she is getting the stability she needs to learn how to behave as a house dog. She is doing well. Here is what her current foster mom has to say about her:
Stella is a DIVA! She’s a special beagle girl who is affectionate and playful, loves to snuggle and sleep under the covers. She gets along well with other dogs once she gets to know them. Her only downfall is that she’s food aggressive, but this can be managed by feeding her in a crate OR by not putting your hand in her food bowl. She needs her space when eating. Being a typical, young, playful girl and a beagle, she is a little mischievous and can get into things, but she can be easily redirected to do otherwise, when necessary. She can be a little vocal when protecting the yard or when she thinks it is time to be out of her crate. This delightful girl would be best in a dog-experienced home.
NEW – 19 JULY 2020: Stella came to BREW when her owners had to give her up due to a move. She is a gorgeous girl who is a little timid at first but seems to do well with humans and other dogs. Her previous owners said she was good around kids but has shown some signs of food aggression, so we do not recommend she go to a home with young children. Stella is fully vetted and available for adoption.
