About Me
Meet Yerry
Status: Fostered
Estimated Ages: 3-4 Years
Estimated Weights: 30 Pounds
NOTE: Not recommended for an apartment (can be noisy)
UPDATE - 7 FEBRUARY 2022: We had originally posted Rosetta and Yerry as a bonded pair at the request of the owners who had to surrender them, but we believe they are not bonded and would do fine without each other. We have been monitoring their progress at their foster home. Here is an update on Yerry from his foster mom:
Yerry is a beagle boy who grew up with Rosetta. He's has been fostered in my home for a few months now and does well. He's super sweet and friendly and does well with other dogs, although I haven't really seen him play with anyone, so he may be ok as an only dog. He can be a possessive, but he's never tried to bite. I think he will do much better in a home with consistent interaction, less competition, a good leader and a routine and regular exercise. He has his own bed and spot in the bedroom and loves to sleep in until he hears breakfast being served. He's quite the watchdog, so he can be a little noisy. I would not recommend him for an apartment. He came from a home that had small children, but I haven't seen him interact with children or cats.
UPDATE - 25 OCTOBER 2021 (from foster mom): Yerry and Rosetta have been in my home for at least a month now and are doing well. They have, for the most part, assimilated to the pack life. Rosetta will get a little snarly if another dog gets too close when she's chewing on a bone or eating but, otherwise, is a very sweet girl. She is a little on the nervous or insecure side, so she can be a little sensitive and will slink away if you raise your voice. Yerry is your typical beagle with food and toys (sometimes fearless and oblivious); however, he is a super sweet and handsome boy. Both are house trained with a doggy door with no accidents in the house.
NEW - 1 October 2021: Rosetta (beagle/lab mix) and Yerry (beagle) came to BREW when their owners lost their home and had nowhere to go except where dogs were not allowed. Heartbreaking! Rosetta was originally adopted from BREW in 2018 when she was just a young pup, and Yerry was later adopted by the family from another rescue. The two dogs have lived together for several years, so we would like to find a family who would be willing to adopt both of these precious pups. Here is what we know about the two:
Rosetta (aka Roz): Can be timid and nervous in new settings but is slowly adjusting to the changes in her life. She is quiet and sweet. She has figured out the doggie door in her foster home.
Yerry: Typical beagle who can be a little noisy but is very friendly. He apparently fell right into the routine at his current foster home. He, too, has figured out the doggie door.
Both dogs are used to being around young children. We will get an update from their foster mom soon.
Questions?
Q: Can you tell me more about a specific dog? Is s/he good with kids / housetrained / good with cats/ etc?
A: What we know is in the write up. Our knowledge about any dog that is not in a foster homes is limited. Once approved, our adoption coordinators will work with you to match you with the right dog.
Q: Can I meet a specific dog?
A: We’re sorry, but you must be an approved adopter to meet our dogs. Pre-pandemic, dogs could be met at adoption days, but you still had to be approved to adopt from an adoption day.
Q: How can I adopt a specific dog?
A: You must submit an adoption application and be approved to adopt. You can do that under Adopt – you can also learn about the adoption process there.. It will take about two weeks for an adoption coordinator to get in touch with you. Please keep in mind that dogs that are available now may be adopted in the meantime. But we are always getting new dogs. You can see them on our website.
Q: Can I add another dog to the list on my application?
A: We don’t hold you to the dogs you listed on your application. It gives us an idea of what you are looking for. Plus it will let us know if someone is interested in one of our special needs / hard to place dogs.
Q: I indicated that I was interested in a specific dog on my application, but I see that s/he has been adopted. What happened?
A: We do not hold dogs. Applicants in the queue before you are being approved and may adopt the dog you are interested in before you are approved. But we are always getting new dogs in and your adoption coordinator will help you find the perfect match.
