About Me
UPDATE – 21 NOVEMER 2021 (from foster family): Jeeters has been in his foster home now for two weeks, and he is doing very well. He adjusted within a matter of minutes! He is an extremely friendly dog, loves everybody he meets, and wants to play with every dog he comes across. He is housebroken and crate trained. He is also very good on walks and very quiet (he’s only part beagle!).
Jeeters is still young and definitely has some of that puppy energy. When he plays with other dogs or with people, he can be a little mouthy, but it’s all friendly. He’s not food driven (which is nice that he doesn’t beg, but this makes for more creative training methods). He has not chewed anything up, but we have caught him carrying things around the house, which is mostly a function of him being a younger, very energetic dog.
Because of the above, it is not recommended that Jeeters join a forever home with a child under the age of 5 or a home with another dog that is not going to want to play. Jeeters will want to play with any dog he shares a home with!
UPDATE – 6 NOVEMBER 2021: Jeeters is such a fun boy! He had a great time at Beaglefest and is now in a foster home. Stay tuned as we see how this silly boy adjusts to living in a home.
UPDATE – 25 OCTOBER 2021 (from kennel manager): Jeeters had a chance to go to a dog park and had lots of fun! He was being a young (and recently neutered) male, all up in everyone’s business! He made lots of human friends with his sweet wiggles and tail wags, and he showed off his very soft, luxurious coat!
UPDATE – 5 OCTOBER 2021: Jeeters is now fully vetted and available for fostering or adoption.
NEW – 18 SEPTEMBER 2021: Jeeters is a cute beagle mix who is friendly and good with other dogs. He was a stray at the Louisa County Animal Shelter in Virginia, so his history is unknown. He will be available soon.
