Rip

About Me

UPDATE – 19 NOVEMBER 2021: Rip continues to be such a great guy as he is so loving and adorable. We’ve enjoyed spending time with him over the past two weeks. He’s become more playful, and we see more of his fun personality. He continues to do great at the dog park, visiting everyone and giving them some love in return for some head scratches. He loves to play with squeaky toys and takes his bone chewing very seriously! He is content on chewing a tasty bone for hours, wagging his tail the whole time. He’s a fan of chewing, so we leave toys throughout the house to keep him occupied. He continues to be a cuddle bug and loves people and attention. He doesn’t make a lot of noise, occasionally barking at the dogs in the other yards or at the dog park. He hasn’t had any accidents in the house and knows to go outside to take care of business. Like any hound on a leash, he has a powerful nose following every scent around!

UPDATE – 14 NOVEMBER 2021 (from foster family): Rip came to stay with us last weekend, and he is the sweetest! If you’re looking for a love bug, he’s for you! He loves attention and likes to put his paws on you when we are sitting or standing. Rip is content just standing there getting his head rubbed. We take him to the dog park daily and he acts like the mayor greeting everyone and asking for attention!

If you love a pup to keep you warm in the winter, he’s your man. Rip loves to hop up and take a nap on your lap. He is a happy guy and always seems to be wagging his tail. Rip gets along with furry foster siblings and fellow canines at the dog park. Rip is not a big barker, but when he does, it reminds us of a seal. Prior to being fostered, Rip needed stitches in his face and ear. They were removed yesterday and he’s healing quite well.

Rip has done well without crating and loves to sleep in the human’s bed. He’s a typical hound on a leash as he likes to find all the amazing smells in the city. Rip had a few accidents indoors, but it seems to have subsided in the past few days as he’s grown accustomed to his new routine. Rip would do well in a single or multi-dog home.

UPDATE – 6 NOVEMBER 2021: Rip had a great time at Beaglefest today and, even better, found himself a foster home! This is one sweet boy who we will get to know better as he settles in with his new foster family. Stay tuned!

UPDATE – 29 OCTOBER 2021: Rip is now fully vetted and available for fostering and adoption.

NEW – 24 OCTOBER 2021: Meet Rip! He is an owner give-up, but our kennel manager isn’t sure why. She says he is friendly and social and gets along well with other dogs. He’s short and a little longer than your average beagle. He was a “rabbit” dog for his previous owner. Maybe he wasn’t a good hunter. He will be available soon.
