Lady Jane

About Me

UPDATE – 14 NOVEMBER 2021 (from foster mom): Meet Lady Jane, a loving and affectionate 7-8 year old female who is finally enjoying the good life. Lady Jane was likely used for breeding (she clearly has had multiple litters of puppies) and was found in rural Louisa County where she probably was dumped when her owner was done with her. ☹ She is a perfect house guest: quiet; does her business outside (no accidents inside so far!); sleeps all night in her crate. She loves everyone, and just wants to be near her humans. She is food obsessed (duh, she’s a BEAGLE), enjoys sleeping in the sun, and begs for ear scratches. She’s great with people and adores children and walks well on a leash (she LOVES being outside). After adjusting to the kennel last spring, she got along well with all of her kennel mates, so she will probably be fine with other dogs. No separation anxiety noticed—she reluctantly goes into her crate and sleeps when I’m out running errands.

UPDATE – 6 NOVEMBER 2021: Wow, Lady Jane has come a long way since we first got her in the spring. She lived at our kennels for a long time and has turned into a wonderful, very sweet girl! She has definitely mellowed. She joined us at Beaglefest today and made many friends and found herself a foster home! Her new foster mom says she is a doll and was great when given a bath.  We will learn more about this pretty Lady as she adjusts to living in a house and being pampered by her foster family.

NEW – 14 MAY 2021: Lady Jane came to BREW when she was trapped as a stray near Haymarket, Virginia. We have no idea why she was loose, but no one ever claimed her. She is a pretty girl with beautiful ticking, but she doesn’t get along with all dogs. She may do best as an only dog. We’ll see if that changes after she is spayed. She will be available soon.
