UPDATE – 28 NOVEMBER 2021 (from foster family): With his cheerful nature and loving eyes, Sancho is the pick of all resident dogs to snuggle with. Sancho is housetrained but took a little coaxing to poop while on the leash (hey! it’s embarrassing!). He has a lovely jog like a parade pony leading the brass band down the street. His aroo will brighten your howlidays for sure!

The best story about this plucky guy with the heart of gold is when he first entered his foster home, he immediately went up the stairs and cried like a baby when he didn’t know how to come down. So his foster dad helped Sancho down by half-carrying him. Ten seconds later Sancho was at the top of the stairs crying again; his foster mom left a trail of treats that he climbed down to follow (check out the video: Sancho Conquers the Stairs). In 5 seconds, Sancho was back crying at the top of the stairs and climbed down crying all the way. Now he doesn’t think twice about going up and down the stairs. Let Sancho’s loud, comforting snoring give you a peaceful season.

UPDATE – 20 NOVEMBER 2021: Hurray! Sancho found a foster home and now has a chance to show his wonderful personality as a house dog. This boy is sweet! We will be hearing soon from his new foster family.

UPDATE – 12 NOVEMBER 2021 (from our kennel manager): If someone is looking for a super sweet middle-aged/older boy who just wants to a warm place to lay and cuddle, Sancho is the one for you! He joined us at Beaglefest, did a little socializing, and then found a warm place in the sun to sleep. He’s such a sweet boy!

UPDATE – 6 AUGUST 2021: Sancho is now fully vetted and available for fostering or adoption.

NEW – 2 AUGUST 2021: Sancho is a friendly, lanky beagle mix who came to BREW from the Lousia County Animal Shelter in Virginia, along with Zari. Like Zari, Sancho has a cropped tail. Sancho is friendly and gets along well with other dogs. He  will be available soon.
